From Columbia to communities around the world - we engineer change together.
Columbia University Chapter of Engineers Without Borders USA (CU-EWB) is a student-led chapter of
Engineers Without Borders USA, dedicated to using engineering to create lasting,
community-driven impact. We partner with communities locally and abroad to design and build
sustainable projects that truly matter, like powering homes, building schools, and restoring
waterways.
At CU-EWB, engineering is about more than math or blueprints. It’s about working side
by side with people to create meaningful change. We learn by doing: applying what we study in
the classroom, collaborating across fields, and growing together as teammates and friends. Our
members come from all areas of study - anywhere from mechanical engineering and computer
science, to business and art and design - and every perspective contributes to real solutions that
improve lives.
From late-night project sessions to traveling abroad or joining one of our campus events,
CU-EWB gives it our all. Together, we build more than projects. We build an impact that lasts.
